The short version

What stays on your phone

Your sounds, settings, loops, recordings and saved jams stay on your phone unless you pass them on. Your TONE3000 sign-in token is kept in the phone's keychain. The guitar input is processed on the phone; nothing is recorded unless you press record.

What we keep on our server, and why

WhatWhy
An account id from Sign in with AppleTo know which jams, answers and comments are yours.
The name you chooseIt is shown on your layers, answers and comments.
Audio you pass or send as an answer, and the songs made from themSo the people you share with can hear and answer them.
What you write: jam names, asks, closing words, comments, reportsTo show them, and to handle reports.
🤘, saves, blocksTo count them, show your saved jams and hide people you blocked.
A push token for your phone, if you allow notificationsTo tell you when somebody answers your jam, picks your layer or finishes a song you played on.

The legal basis is our agreement with you (the terms): we cannot run Pass the jam without these. Reports are kept to keep the service safe.

Who can see what

A jam passed to Anyone, its layers, comments, 🤘 and the names on them can be heard and read by anyone, in the app and on its jamsday.app link, without an account. A Link only jam does not appear in Listen or Wanted. Anyone with the link can listen. Your reports are seen only by you and us.

Where it is kept

On our database and file storage at Supabase, in the EU (Frankfurt). The jamsday.app website is served by Cloudflare. Notifications go through Apple's push service. Sign in with Apple is Apple's; signing in to TONE3000 happens on TONE3000's site under their privacy policy — we do not receive or keep your TONE3000 data on our server.

How long

Until you delete it or your account. Reports of other users' content are kept until handled, at most 12 months. Deleting your account (Profile › Delete account) removes your jams, answers, comments, 🤘, saves, reports, blocks, push tokens and your profile. A layer of yours already baked into somebody else's song stays in that song — it is part of their audio — without your name, shown as “Deleted user”.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, object, or complain to your data protection authority — in Sweden the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY, imy.se). Write to [email protected].

Children

Jamsday is not meant for children under 13. If you are under 13, do not create an account. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new one is posted here with a new date, and big changes are told in the app.
